Cheby started training with Celeur when he was sixteen but started seriously working with 'Atis-Rezistans' from 2000. Cheby's work exhibits strong formalistic qualities and his sculptures engage with space and materials more than culture, as with his melted-down television consoles that decorate the outside of his studio. The real reason why I like this movement is that it gives the artist a lot of liberty and a sense of independence to be creative and work how he chooses. You don't get people telling you what to do, but work at your own pace and uniquely with one's own imagination...now, I am free to roam without any predefined conditions.
